For aged care and NDIS providers

Witnessed properly, without moving anyone.

Aged care and disability providers deal with more declarations than most: screening declarations for new staff, statements from residents and participants, documents a family member has to sign from interstate. The people signing are often the ones for whom a trip to a JP is hardest. We witness statutory declarations, affidavits and some deeds by video call with an Australian lawyer, from wherever the person is.

Where it goes wrong

Residents and participants can't easily travel

A declaration from someone in care shouldn't mean a trip to find a JP. It can be done from their room.

Staff screening has a start date

New staff often have to make a declaration before they can begin. If the JP is closed, the roster waits.

Family members are interstate

A relative signing on a resident's behalf, or supporting an application, can be witnessed from their own home in another city.

Your own staff can't witness

Providers and their employees are interested parties for most of these documents. An external legal practitioner is not.

Why use us

Comes to the person

A video call reaches a resident's room, a participant's home or a relative's kitchen table. A support worker can help set up the device; the practitioner takes it from there.

A lawyer as witness

Every jurisdiction we cover permits audio-visual witnessing of statutory declarations by an Australian legal practitioner, and the endorsement records who witnessed the document and how.

Clear about what we can't do

Some documents can't be witnessed online, and we say so before anyone pays. See the question below.

$39 per document

Charged only once it's witnessed, whether you book a time or connect on demand. Regular volume? Ask about monthly invoicing.

Questions

Can you witness enduring powers of attorney or advance care directives?

No. We don't witness wills, enduring powers of attorney, enduring guardianship appointments or advance care and health directives online. See a solicitor or JP in person for those. Statutory declarations, affidavits and some deeds we can do.

What if the person needs help with the device?

A support worker or family member can set up the call and stay nearby, but the practitioner needs to see the person signing on their own and be satisfied they understand what they're signing. If the practitioner isn't satisfied, the session ends and nothing is charged.

What ID does a resident need?

An Australian driver licence, an Australian passport or a foreign passport, photographed on the device along with a selfie. If the person has none of these, contact us before booking.

Regular volume?

If your organisation needs documents witnessed regularly, tell us roughly how many and we'll talk about monthly invoicing. For a single document, just start a session.
